Biography
One of our Fijian-born players, Sai has had an unorthodox, but successful career playing rugby. He moved to the UK in 2013 on a rugby scholarship to Terrington Hall, in York, before moving to local school, Mount St. Mary’s, where he began to draw the attention of more regional associations.
He represented Yorkshire from U15 level, all the way through to U20, demonstrating his ability and longevity. In 2020, he was brought into the Leicester Tigers’ academy and played for one season. After the effects of the pandemic, Sai relaunched his rugby career and joined the Knights academy in 2021/22.
After an injury-ridden season last year, Tobeyaweni was fortunate enough to be rewarded with a professional contract for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign. Impressing over pre-season, there is no doubt Sai will be a player to watch in the future, however, he like many of his team mates, will be moving joining Bury St. Edmunds on loan for the season to ensure consistent minutes in a week.
