Doncaster Knights Academy and University Campus Doncaster (UCDon) have been working in partnership since 2015 to develop the next generation of young elite players and graduates.

Providing students with the skills they need both on and off the pitch, this unique student-athlete pathway allows individuals to access both professional rugby environment at Castle Park and the range of academic facilities and courses at UCDon, on a schedule that fits around both their studies and training.

All Academy sides are coached by current and ex Doncaster Knights players, coaches, and back-room staff, providing a clear and obvious route to the first team. Student-athletes can expect to be involved in regular training session and competitive rugby opportunities throughout the academic year with the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Academy leagues, knockout competitions, and regional rugby events.

With multiple players breaking into the Knights first team, this opportunity offers students the chance to maximise their development with an extensive support network behind them, from dedicated lecturing teams, academic support staff and individualised and tailored strength and conditioning support and rugby specific sports therapy.
